Leaks are inevitable with Inflatable Pool. Discovering a leak in an Inflatable Pool can sometimes be tricky. Luckily, there are a couple do-it-yourself methods that can help you discover where your pesky pool leak is stemming from.
Check all pool equipment to make sure the leak is not located at your filter, pump, heater or pipe valves.
Test whether you are losing water due to evaporation. Place a 5-gallon bucket in the pool with only inches of the bucket above the pool water level. Fill the bucket with water to match the level of the pool. Use a marker to mark this point. After 24 hours, compare the pool water level to the bucket water level. If the Inflatable Pool water level is lower than the bucket water level you have a leak.
Purchase pool dye from a pool supply store to determine the location of your leak. Dive down to the area where you believe the leak is located. Apply the dye close to where you believe the leak to be. Watch the dye to see if it is sucked out in one spot. If it is, that's where the leak is located.
If the dye didn't reveal the location of the leak, drain your pool. Using a sponge, spread soap over the area where you believe the leak is located. Watch to see if the soap bubbles up. It will bubble where there is a leak.
Contact an Inflatable Pool specialist if none of these techniques reveals the location of the leak. Leak detection specialists have special equipment they can use to locate the leak and repair it.
