Inflatable Holiday Decorations
Source:     Author:     Posted: 21-10-2015    Views:

Nowadays, inflatable holiday decorations have replaced the traditional yard adornments for special occasions. Blinking lights on evergreens have been swapped for blow-up Santas in NASCAR race cars. Cornstalks on doorways have been replaced by giant nylon balloons shaped like pumpkins and black cats. This relatively new tradition has swept the country in popularity.

1 Set Up. An inflatable can be set up in a front yard in very little time. To assemble, simply remove the inflatable holiday decoration from the box, unfold the stand, zip the back of the inflatable and plug it into an outlet. With the toss of a switch, the device is fully inflated in about a minute. An internal motor and fan do the work.

2 Cost. Prices range from $70 to $300. Manufacturers claim that an inflatable holiday decoration requires no more energy to operate than a strand of holiday lights. They recommend that the inflatable be in operation no more than eight continuous hours per day. Once they are unplugged, the contraptions deflate like balloons but can be quickly inflated when plugged in again.

3 Maintenance. A damp cloth and mild detergent are suitable for cleaning the inflatable, especially before it gets packed back into the box after the holiday. Most units have a spare fuse stored inside the plug that goes into the electrical outlet. Regular sewing thread or duct tape are recommended if the nylon ever is torn.

4 Variety. Most of the American holidays are depicted by special inflatables. This assortment of blow-up devices includes a Valentine's Day bear, the Easter Bunny on a motorcycle, a Hanukkah Menorah and Uncle Sam. Some proud owners have more than a dozen inflatable holiday decorations at one time in their front yards.
